Sleep Number Beds

Sleep Number beds are unique in the fact that they are air-based mattresses that are designed for permanent use. Most of us think of air mattresses as something temporary that you pull out for guests or when you go camping, however a Sleep Number bed is not your typical air mattress. Sleep Number beds are designed to look and feel like a normal mattress, but instead of springs or foam, their center is full of air. The amount air held inside the mattress chamber can be adjusted, allowing you to set the firmness that is right for you.

Sleep Number beds have been proven to give a good night’s sleep and help relieve the pressure on your aches and pains. A traditional innerspring mattress stays stiff while you sleep, putting enormous pressure of your joins, but a Sleep Number bed will move with the weight of your body, which helps distribute weight evenly and reduce aches and pains. Because of this, most people find that they get a much more restful sleep with a Sleep Number bed and they wake up feeling refreshed and ready to meet the challenges of their day.

A comfortable sleep is important and a Sleep Number bed can deliver that. More and more people are finding that innerspring mattresses cannot deliver a good night’s sleep and are switching to other types of mattress, most notably memory foam mattress. Memory foam mattresses are popular because they conform to your body as you sleep and relieve the pressure off your joints. However, Sleep Number beds do the same thing and have the added advantage of being adjustable.

Because Sleep Number beds are in cased with air, you have the ability to constantly adjust the firmness of your mattress. Memory foam mattresses tend to be limited in how firm they can get, but a Sleep Number bed can get quite firm if you add enough air. If you want a softer sleep, you can get that as well. You can also change the firmness of your mattress, as your needs change. Additionally, Sleep Number beds come with two air chambers, so that each side of the bed can be adjusted separately. This guarantees that you and your partner each get the firmness you need without affecting the other, which is good for marital harmony.

Another advantage of a Sleep Number bed, especially for those who are sharing a bed, is that it localizes your movement. With many traditional innerspring mattresses, any movement you make affects your partner and their sleep, which isn’t always pleasant. However, a Sleep Number bed is more localized and makes it so even if you move a lot in your sleep, you will not disturb your partner. These mattresses are not completely localized and you may feel some pressure when your partner gets in or out of the bed, simply due to the nature of an air-filled mattress, but other than big movements, your sleep should be unaffected by what your partner is doing on his or her side of the bed.
